Our Persimmon Soap features Japanese Kaki Shibu (persimmon) extract, a tannin-rich botanical traditionally valued in Japanese personal care for its deodorising properties. Combined with a creamy blend of olive oil, coconut oil, tallow, shea butter and castor oil, this soap bar provides a rich, satisfying lather while gently cleansing the skin and helping combat persistent odour.

With tea tree essential oil for its added antibacterial/antifungal benefits and a fresh persimmon and orange fragrance for a bright, clean finish.

This bar is particularly suited to those who are conscious of persistent body odour, including odour associated with nonenal, or simply prefer a deodorising-style soap as part of their daily cleansing routine.

What is Nonenal?

Nonenal is a fatty aldehyde produced when certain skin lipids oxidise, and its production can increase with age. It is associated with a distinctive, lingering body odour often described as “aged” or “greasy”, particularly around the neck, back and upper body.

Why Persimmon?

Kaki Shibu is a traditional Japanese persimmon extract naturally rich in tannins. Persimmon-based deodorising products have become popular in Japan for people seeking to manage unwanted body odour, making this a unique botanical alternative to an ordinary soap bar.
